Social Entrepreneurship
Elevating social consciousness and creating sustainable impact
Catalysing social change
We believe that each generation faces its own unique challenges in driving social change.
To address these changing concerns, the Dr Richard K M Eu – SIM Social Entrepreneurship Centre (RESSEC) was launched as a joint partnership between SIM and Dr. Richard K M Eu's family to nurture social entrepreneurs and support social service agencies to make positive and sustainable impact.
Dr. Eu, who was SIM's Founding Chairman from 1964 to 1996, strongly believed in social entrepreneurship. RESSEC was formed in honour of his legacy.
Supported by a SGD6 million donation from the Eu family and an additional SGD2 million from SIM, RESSEC is dedicated to grow the social service sector in Singapore by equipping the next generation to tackle social and environmental challenges in our shores and beyond.
Guided by the Chinese proverb "十年树木,百年树人", meaning 'It takes ten years to grow trees, but a hundred years to cultivate people', RESSEC is dedicated to developing social entrepreneurs. Our programmes foster innovative thinking, ethical leadership, and sustainable practices, empowering leaders for lifelong community impact.
