We believe everyone deserves a chance to receive the best possible education. SIM offers bursaries and grants, and constantly looks out for partners to assist our students facing financial difficulties.

SIM Global Education Bursary

This bursary aims to provide financial assistance to needy students studying at SIM Global Education (GE). 
•    Monetary assistance of up to S$6,000, tenable for one year of study 
•    Open to Full-time / Part-time SIM GE students pursuing Foundation, Diploma, Undergraduate or Postgraduate programmes, excluding those who are currently in Bridging / Preparatory / Certificate in English course.
•    No repayment required, unless the recipient discontinues his or her studies

SIM GE Crisis Fund

This Crisis Fund aims to provide emergency financial support to needy students studying at SIM Global Education (GE). 

  • Value of the fund up to S$5,000 for each eligible student
  • Open to Full-time / Part-time SIM GE students pursuing Foundation, Diploma, Undergraduate or Postgraduate programmes, excluding those who are currently in Bridging / Preparatory / Certificate in English course

Other SIM Financial Schemes

Under the Enhanced Financial Aid (Bursary), Singaporean undergraduates from households with a Per Capita Income (PCI) below S$600 will receive up to S$13,500 coverage of tuition fees per year. Singapore Permanent Residents with a PCI below S$600 will receive tuition fee coverage of up to S$6,000.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Full-time or part-time SIM GE students pursuing undergraduate programmes.
  • Must have enrolled and started classes
  • Singapore citizen / Singapore permanent resident 
  • Have financial difficulties caused by loss of job, loss of income-earner, or medical treatment / condition
  • Have satisfactory academic results
  • Must not be receiving any SIM GE sponsorship / scholarship, or have not been awarded the SIM GE bursary within the last one year at the point of application
  • Applicants who receive external financial assistance for tuition fees will have their bursary reduced by the amount of the external aid.

The Richard K M Eu-SIM Social Entrepreneurship Centre (RESSEC) believes in empowering students to make a positive impact on the world. We have 12 bursaries to award to SIMGE students who can demonstrate their commitment to service and have  the qualities needed of a future leader to make a significant impact on society. This bursary award of S$10,000 each is a recognition of their efforts in contributing positively to the local community and as an encouragement to continue their commitment to service.
The bursary award is given based on PCI as well as extent of social service involvement. We encourage all eligible SIMGE students to apply for this bursary.

Eligibility Criteria:
•    Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
•    Per Capita Income (PCI) must not exceed S$1,000.
•    Showcase active participation in community service activities. 
•    Have an active enrolment status at time of application.

Required Documents:
•    Completed Bursary Application Form with ALL the required details
•    Family particulars and a copy of their latest household income statement (e.g. Payslip, CPF statement, tax assessment notice).
•    A letter of recommendation and/or certificates from the School or community leaders, highlighting your community service contributions.
•    Your academic transcript (if available). 

Things to Note:
•    Please ensure that your bank account details are updated in SIMConnect before applying for bursary. If awarded, the award amount will be credited directly into your bank account by March 2025.
•    Bursary recipients will need to make course fees payment first and have started classes before the bursaries can be disbursed. 
•    Bursary recipients to consent to SIM featuring their story and community involvement experience as an inspiration to others.
•     The bursary must be refunded in part or in full if the student discontinues his or her studies within one month after the disbursement.

The SIM Study Abroad Award offers financial support to needy students (Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents) studying at SIM Global Education (GE). The award enables students to participate in a short-term overseas exposure programmes at the home campus of their university or the approved designated universities. Students gain broader worldview to become global citizens through their exposure to different cultures, global communities and education system.

Value
The recipients will be determined by the SIM Study Abroad Award selection panel, based on applicants’ assessed Per Capita Income (PCI) and the eligibility criteria. Not all eligible applications will be guaranteed an award.

  • Must be accepted in the study abroad programmes by the universities.
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
  • Satisfactory academic results.
  • Students on SIM GE scholarships and bursaries are eligible to apply upon declaration. Conditions apply for other scholarships/bursaries received.

Tenure Period
  • The SIM Study Abroad Award is tenable for studying in designated universities only.
  • No repayment is required. However, the award must be refunded in part or in full if the student discontinues his or her studies.
Outcomes
  • Students need to complete the Study Abroad programmes.
  • Award recipients are to serve as Student Ambassadors at SIM GE Open Houses, Education Fairs and/or other events.
  • Award recipients are to serve as Peer/Alumni Mentors for at least 3 months in one of the SIM mentoring programmes, such as Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) leaders, ISO Buddies, Student Learning Assistants, etc.

Students who participate will gain valuable cross-cultural experience, expand their global perspective, and apply their knowledge in real-world settings while making a positive impact through volunteering in international community projects. 

Additionally, students with a Per Capita Income below S$1,750 will be eligible for a funding of $450.

The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) was established on 10 October 1991, offering core programmes in education, human resource development, social development and research.

The AMP Education Bursary seeks to recognise students for their academic achievements and be a source of motivation for them to strive harder in their studies.

Lembaga Biasiswa Kenanga Maulud (LBKM) was formed in 1965 with the concerted determination and commitment of the leaders of about 70 Malay/Muslim organisations. They felt the need to have an organisation that can cater to the financial needs of the needy students.

Since its establishment, LBKM’s focus has been to provide financial assistance in the form of bursaries to needy students.
  • Monetary assistance of $1,200 to $1,800 (for degree students), or $600 to $1,000 (for full-time diploma students) 
  • Open to Singapore citizens 
  • Also open to applicants under 21 years old with at least one parent who is a Singapore citizen

Muslimin Trust Fund Association (MTFA) is a registered charitable Muslim organisation in Singapore. It aims to provide financial assistance to Muslim students from lower-income families in Singapore, as well as to orphans who wish to further their education in various fields. 
  • Monetary assistance of $2,000 (for degree students) or $1,000 (for diploma students) 
  • Open to Muslim students from low-income families who are pursuing full-time pre-tertiary and tertiary education

The Sivadas-HEB Education Fund, a fund established by the trustees of the Estate of the Late Sivadas Sankaran, provides needy Hindu children with financial assistance to get a good education.

The Fund invites Hindu students from low-income families pursuing tertiary education to apply for a Tuition Subsidy to help them meet the cost of their education.  
  • The subsidy will be up to 50% of the yearly tuition fee, subject to a maximum as determined by the Sivadas-HEB Education Fund Committee 
  • Open to Hindu students from low-income families pursuing tertiary education
