Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking
We uphold human rights principles to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our directly employed workforce, as well as among any third-party service providers and vendors associated with us.

Our approach to human rights is integral to and embedded within our Purpose and Core Values. Our ‘Respect for the Individual’ value, for example, exhorts us to treat all stakeholders with respect and value differences; our ‘Act with Integrity’ value requires us to maintain high ethical standards. We have been a signatory to the UNGC since 2023 and observe its ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

Conflict of Interest
All staff must avoid any conflict between their own interests and the interests of SIM. When a staff enters an employment contract with SIM, the staff becomes duty-bound to comply with the terms and conditions of service. Included in the terms and conditions of service are the duty of faithful and wholehearted service, the duty to apply skill, knowledge and ability to one’s job, and carry the duty to safeguard and protect the interests of the SIM. For new staff, the declaration must be done before their confirmation.

Diversity and Inclusion
We support our employees by building an inclusive, equitable and diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve and our core values.

Our goal is to create an inclusive culture that promotes the performance and wellbeing of our staff irrespective of age, ethnicity, gender, religion, marital status, disability, political beliefs, or trade union activity.

Health and Safety
We are committed to comply with all applicable legislations, guidelines and standards relating to workplace safety and health. SIM is dedicated to ensuring a workplace that is healthy, safe, and secure for employees, customers, business partners, and visitors.

We will make all reasonable efforts to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all staff, students, tenants, contractors, and visitors by proactively identifying and correcting any safety and health hazards.

Integrity
We are dedicated to operating with integrity and honesty in all their dealings with customers, businesses and other organisations. Payments or consideration in kind such as gifts or favours to influence a party to unduly favour or award business opportunities to SIM is strictly prohibited. We have a “zero tolerance” approach to fraud, bribery, corruption and any other type of criminal conduct.

Personal Data Protection
We respect the privacy of individuals and recognize the importance of the personal data that learners and other individuals have entrusted to us, and we believe that it is our responsibility to properly manage, protect, process and disclose personal data. We are also committed to adhering to the provisions and principles of the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

Grievance Mechanisms
We engage all our stakeholders in open and honest communication. We maintain effective grievance mechanisms to allow them to raise genuine concerns and report any adverse human rights impact that may occur within our business operations. To promote and ensure compliance with this SIM Code of Business Ethics, we have in place a Whistleblowing Policy to provide a framework to promote responsible whistleblowing through an independent channel. If we cause or contribute to human rights harm, we will ensure due diligence, proper review and promote implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
