2024 SIM OAC Malaysia, Johor Bahru - Event Highlights
On June 15, 2024, our Malaysian alumni came together at Capri by Fraser in Johor Bahru for a fantastic event organized by the Alumni Relations and Regional Recruitment teams. The event saw a great turnout with 50 attendees, including some alumni who traveled from Singapore to show their support.
Dr. Lim Kim Ying, our SIM Academic Dean, kicked things off with an engaging talk on "The Future of Work: Emerging Job Trends and Innovations." It was a intimate and interactive session, where attendees got to share their experiences and career stories. Through those sharing, Dr Lim highlighted the emerging job trends, providing our alumni with valuable insights.
During the dinner, we had the honor of hearing from David Lim, a current SIM student, who spoke on behalf of his mother. David shared their family's journey and the decision-making process behind choosing Singapore for his education. His sharing offered potential students inspiration and valuable tips on their future education pathway.
We also had our alumnus, Dylan Cheong present "Cracking the Code: Your Guide to Job Search Success in Singapore”. He emphasized the importance of building professional connections in Singapore's competitive job market and discussed the nuances of the local job landscape. Dylan offered tips on how to stand out to potential employers, providing invaluable resources and actionable steps for attendees looking to navigate and thrive in Singapore’s job market.
As always, we wrapped up the day with some fun games and a lucky draw, leaving everyone in high spirits. It was a wonderful event, and we are thankful to everyone who attended the event and made the day so special! We appreciate our alumni and student who came forward to share their knowledge, making the event an interactive and insightful session.
We now eagerly look forward to the upcoming OAC Malaysia CSR event in Singapore. We hope to see more of our Malaysia Alumni come forward to join us for these meaningful event.
