Curriculum

Structure

  • Lecturers are both academic and industry-based professionals with extensive work experience and knowledge in their domain.
  • Average teacher-student ratio 1:70

  • The online learning mode allows students to take ownership and control over their learning with a learning approach of 100% online delivery (asynchronousand synchronous) to cover the syllabus. In addition, the programmes will still be delivered in the typical full-time structure of three hours X five days per week.
  • The online asynchronous lessons for each module for the programmes require two hours over 12 sessions, a total of 24 hours of self-directed learning. The online synchronous learning support or facilitation sessions also require three hours over 12 sessions and two three-hour online Revision Sessions, totalling 42 hours of online synchronous interaction. Each module comprises a total of scheduled 42 hours (plus 24 hours of self-directed learning) over 14 sessions of interaction time. To complete the programme, students need to go through 15 modules, in total, 630 hours of lessons

Assessment & Attendance

  • Continuous assessment and end-of-term exam
  • Continuous assessments include case studies, class tests, discussions, presentations, group, and individual assignments.
  • To attain a pass for each module, students must achieve overall minimum GPA of 1.0 (grade D).
  • Attendance requirement: 75%

Requirements to Graduate

Graduating students who passed all 15 modules will be issued a transcript and awarded with a Diploma from SIM upon graduation.

Admission Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on all the qualifications they have submitted. Meeting the minimum requirement does not mean automatic admission.
 

Accepted Entry Qualifications

  • GCE A-level, IB diploma, or other equivalent pre-university certifications, or Polytechnic diploma, or SIM GE’s foundation programme, namely, Management Foundation Studies (MFS)
  • Other qualifications will be assessed based on the equivalence to GCE ‘A’ level examinations.

Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements might be recommended to undergo the 6-month Management Foundation Studies (MFS) programme.

Equivalent International Qualifications

International applicants will be assessed on the qualification’s equivalent to the GCE ‘A’ level examinations. For information on international qualifications, refer to SIM’s International Student Prospectus.

English Language Requirements

  • GCE ‘O’ level credit pass (grade 1 to 6) in English (as first language) or
  • English ACT Total score of 24 with at least 20 for writing; or
  • TOEFL 550 (TWE 4.0) or 213 (computer‐based) plus 4 in the Test of Written English (TWE) or 59 (iBT) or 59 (iBT Home Edition); or
  • IELTS 5.5; or
  • Pass SIM English test at Advanced 1 level; or
  • SAT I 550 (critical reading & writing); or
  • Pearson Test of English (PTEA) 42; or
  • RMIT English Worldwide (REW) Advanced Level; or
  • Duolingo English Test score (DET) of 90; or
  • An equivalent English Language qualification

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirement would need to undergo the Certificate in English Language (CEL) programme prior to enrolment in the MFS and Diploma programmes. 

The duration of the CEL programme depends on the applicant’s English language proficiency level. Applicants can sit for an English Placement 

Test conducted by SIM to determine their English language proficiency level.

Notes:

  • IELTS or TOEFL scores must be less than two years at point of enrolment.
  • The SIM English Placement Test results will be valid for one year from the date of the test.

Fees & Financial Aid 

Programme fees are payable over 5 terms before class starts.

Payment to SIM can be made through SIMConnect using Credit Card (Visa or Master), PayNow, eNETS, OCBC Interest-free Instalment Plan (min. S$500) and cheques.

International students who are not residing in Singapore 

  • Total Programme Fees: S$18,000.00
  • Per module: S$1,200.00

For students residing in Singapore 

  • Total Programme Fees: S$19,620.00 (inclusive of 9% GST)
  • Per module: S$1,308.00 (inclusive of 9% GST)

 

 

Mandatory Fees 

All fees inclusive of prevailing GST.

Application Fee

Payable for each application form that is submitted. Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fee will be refunded fully only if the intake does not commence. Unpaid applications will not be processed.

Applicant residing in Singapore: S$109.00 (inclusive of 9% GST)
